We have quite a collection of these from around the world (most people take picture of the sights, we take picture of what we affectionately call 'crud') and each seems to have it's own story.
These stuck on paper stories appeal more than the painted ones. Like meeting someone in the street, they tell their story and move on. You remember the story, but the teller is often never seen again (as most of these are removed more quickly than their painted friends).
